Keep trying and find your way

There are so many advices these days that one can get when starting a slimming diet that you cannot even count. In addition, you can read a lot of contradictory information that cause confusion and everyone claims that their diet/fitness advices are the best. All these may lead to becoming desperate and giving up. Well, you just need to remember one thing: you have to try and try and find your own way. We are all unique with unique metabolisms, organisms, reactions and interactions. Whatever works for your friend may bring no result for you. OK, but how to start?

  1. Try the paleo method: this basically means eliminating carbs totally, eating meat, eggs, nuts and a lot of vegetables (and some fruits). More „permissive” types of this diet also include some dairy products.
  1. If you tried the paleo way and noticed that you haven’t lost any weight, try the vegetarian method. For some people this may be the solution. Exclude meat this time. Eat a lot of vegetables, legume, nuts, fruits (beware of the sugar content) and useful carbs (brown rice, oat, rye, wholegrain wheat, millet, etc.) Make sure your carb consumption is limited. You may include eggs and dairy products, but eat only small portions.
  1. If all these did not help, try the separation method: eat different food categories on different days: meat, dairy products and eggs on protein day, useful carbs (e.g.wholegrain rye bread, wholegrain wheat pasta, buckwheat squash) on carb day, starch (brown rice, sweet potato, bean, pea, etc.) on starch day (vegetables can be included on all 3 days) and dedicate the 4th day to fruits solely (this will speed up your detoxification).
  1. Whichever will work for you, calculating calories consumed will help to keep the energy taken in close to the energy utilized. Find a good calorie calculator and try to keep the limits. (E.g. http://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html?ctype=metric&cage=25&csex=m&cheightfeet=5&cheightinch=10&cpound=160&cheightmeter=180&ckg=60&cactivity=1.375&printit=0)
  1. Make sure your last meal is at least 3 hours before going to bed. This way you can still burn the calories taken in with dinner.

Good luck! 🙂
