Have you ever thought of simplifying diet?
Most people tend to overcomplicate it and try to do it in a very scientific way. Or – the other extreme – is that only one aspect is taken into consideration. Whoever wants to lose weight has to know that success is guaranteed only if we use a holistic approach, but at the same time we keep it simple. That’s why we were thinking about it and came up with the 5 best advices one can get for a slimming diet. Here you are:
Eat half as much as previously
and – as we wrote last week – take care of what you eat and when. (The best is to reduce carbs, eat carbs separately from protein and fat, avoid fruits and vegetables with HIGH sugar content (high GI) and avoid refined food, especially white flour and white sugar. In addition, make sure the last meal of the day is 3 hours before going to bed).
Avoid sugar!
If you pay a little attention, you can achieve a lot. Only if you replace sugar in your coffee with sweetener, that may mean -6 kg weight annually! Avoid products that contain sugar – yes, you will need to read the labels and you’ll be surprised how many products contain sugar (soft drinks, cold cuts, many dairy products, pastry, cereals, canned products, processed food, sauces, of course sweets, etc.) Use natural sweeteners instead that are processed by your body easily: stevia or eritrit.
Drink a lot of water
Or alternatively Bolero 🙂 , if you are bored of water and would like to enjoy a big variety of flavours (a sachet of Bolero contains only 3 calories and is sugar-free.) The minimum daily water intake is 30 ml/body weight kilograms (e.g. if you weight 60 kgs, you need to drink 60 x 30 = 1.800 mls=1,8 litres.) Of course it varies based on a few factors, like gender, age, season, amount of physical work per day, etc. (E.g. if it’s summer and you do some excercise, you have to drink a lot more).
Sleep at least 8 hours
each at night. This might sound funny, but researches show that people who don’t sleep enough tend to gain weight, whereas people with a satisfactory night sleep lose weight. This is due to the fact that fat-burning mechanisms work during the night, while you’re asleep.
Keep moving!
Make sure you do some sports regularly. It’s important to know that you have to do a type of sport that makes you sweat (=cardio type of moving, e.g. running, biking, climbing steps, volleyball, football, basketball, etc. – at least half an hour each day, or a one-hour session 4 times a week). At the same time you also have to do a type of sport that builds your muscles (e.g.fitness, body-building aerobic, etc.) This way you boost your fat-burning mechanism and also help your body replace fat with valuable tissue: muscle (that helps your body utilize sugar well instead of growing cushions of fat).
